Social sciences research for a low carbon future Seminar - 29th April 2010, Nottingham
The event gathered over 50 students and academics across the three Universities. Aside from interesting lectures the Seminar also included posters' session, during which participating students could present their research projects to the jury.
Sarah Higginson (Loughborough University) won the first prize for her poster "Are people powerful?"
Second prize went to Ksenia Chmutina (University of Nottingham) for the poster “Analysis of energy efficiency standards for commercial buildings in China” and the third prize was won by Hoy-Yen Chan (University of Nottingham) for the “Solar facade for low energy buildings” poster.
MEGS First Annual Conference - 19th-21st May 2010, Loughborough
During our Annual Conference we held a poster competition for MEGS students. From the 16 submitted posters, jury selected four which were awarded.
First Prize: Andrea Burris for the poster: "Creatures comfort"
Second Prize: Jyotirmoy Roy for the poster "Energy yield: the reliable performance predictor of photovoltaic devices"
Second Prize: Min Nah Tong, for the poster "Processing and characterisation of nanostructured zirconia fuel cell components"
Third Prize: Temilade Sesan, for the poster "How can improved stove achieve higher diffusion rates amongst households at the bottom of the energy ladder?"

16th International Conference on Automation and Computing, 11th September 2010, Birmingham
During this enrgy and sustainability themed event, 56 students from the top British Universities were presenting results of their research projects. 4 students were awarded the Best Student Paper Prize, We are proud that among them was member of MEGS: He Ma from the University of Birmingham, who presented a paper: “Real-time Control Oriented HCCI Engine Cycle-to-cycle Dynamic Modelling
MEGS Christmas Event, 15th December 2010, Birmingham
Our Christmas Event was about giving MEGS students an opportunity to present their research results in a form of a poster or presentation. So we couldn't miss an opportunity to award the best of them.
We held two competitions: one for the best presentation and the other for the best poster.
